The MIDI Variable After Touch Output building block is used to generate MIDI After Touch messages that have a Note number and Pressure value that are determined when the message is generated.
A MIDI Variable After Touch Output building block has two Number inputs and no outputs. When either input changes, the building block will generate a MIDI After Touch message with a Note number equal to its "NOTE" input, and a Pressure value equal to its "PRES" input. If the "NOTE" or "PRES" input is unconnected, the MIDI After Touch message will use the block's default note number or pressure value respectively.
To configure a MIDI Variable After Touch Output building block, select a default Note number to use if the "NOTE" input is unconnected, and a default Pressure value to use if the "PRES" input is unconnected.
In the example to the right, the MIDI Variable After Touch Output building block will generate a MIDI After Touch message with note C5 (note number "60") if its "NOTE" input is unconnected, and a Velocity value of "40" if its "PRES" input in unconnected.
